AN ARRAY of German naval vessels have arrived at London's West India Dock for a port visit.
The armada of German hardware includes three Ensdorf-class minesweepers: SIEGBURG, AUERBACH/OBERPFALZ and HAMELN. These 55-metre vessels are the motherships to the drone SEEHUND vessels, which are capable of being remotely controlled.
Also part of the visit are the Walchensee class tanker, AMMERSEE, and the Elbe-class replenishment ship, MOSEL.
The visitors started to arrive late on Wednesday night and workers from Canary Wharf watched on yesterday as the remainder of the vessels entered the dock with the assistance of tugs DEVIOUS and SWS BREDA.
There will be a chance to look around the ships on Saturday afternoon between 1pm and 4pm. They are due to leave on Sunday.
