THE largest container ship to ever sail on the Thames arrived last week.
Munkebo Maersk is the first of the line's huge Triple-E box ships to visit the Thames, arriving at London Gateway on Thursday morning and departing shortly after 3pm.
The class of container ship is 400metres long with a beam of 59metres and a capacity of 18,340 TEU.
Munkebo Maersk beat the record set by fellow Maersk ship Edith Maersk which visited the port last Autumn.
