THERE will be a rare opportunity to catch a ferry across the Thames between St Katharine Pier and Butler's Wharf Pier this weekend.
For one day only, a ferry service will be in operation on December 4th between the two piers just below Tower Bridge.
The unusual chance to travel by boat across the Pool of London has arisen because of ongoing maintenance and refurbishment work on Tower Bridge.
While the project required a three month closure to vehicles - which lasts until the end of December - there will only be one day of closure for pedestrians during which time the ferry will operate between Butler's Wharf and St Katharine's Pier.
The passenger vessels Salient and Sarah Kathleen will be operating the service on December 4th between 0800 and 1600 with four trips per hour.
